I want to know what the magnification means, for example a 10X50 magnification

what does that mean? what distance does that cover? etc

One Response to Binoculars? what does the magnification mean?

  1. "Nice Beaver" says:

10 is the factor by which the image is magnified, 50 is the size of the object lens (the big end) in mm

The bigger the object lens the more light passes through to the viewer – so a 10×50 will be usable in lower light conditions than a 10×25
